So...Wednesday marks 6 months since Lailah was born, and I can't help but sit back and wonder, "WHERE HAS ALL THE TIME GONE?" It seems like yesterday that I was becoming impatient waiting for Lailah to decide to make her appearance 10 days late! :D But boy, what 6 months has held for us...it has been such a wonderfully beautiful ride!
What's NEW?:
1. Lailah rolls over now! It's instantaneous most of the time. You lay her on her back and *BOOP* she's on her belly. :D It is so sweet!
2. She has 2 teeth...yes...2! In this video we only captured one, but today I realized that the 2nd tooth has made its presence known! ::oh...my poor nips:: By the way, I now have the ability to upload videos from my new phone! So enjoy! This video cracks me up!!!!
3. I WON 2 contests last week! I had entered Lailah into a photo contest, and while it was a popularity vote, I had to work reallllly hard campaigning to get people (my friends and family...lol) to hop on over to the website and vote. But it all paid off because I won $100 to an Etsy store called, "Chicbebe" - for those of you who don't know what Etsy is, it is an AMAZINGGGGGGG website of all things handmade plus supplies to make handmade things. http://www.etsy.com/shop/chicbebeh
3.1. The second contest I won was a photographers dream! I entered over 100 times by blogging, tweeting, facebooking, sharing and "likeing" the sponsors. I didn't win anything at first, but when 5 people didn't claim their prizes, there was a re-draw and I was blessed with a win! I got this awesome newborn photography prop "canopy bed" - that doesn't come with...the canopy...or a mattress...LOL! But...I got pieces of wood...TO MAKE THE BED! That's a win...Right?! :D I'll make the best of it! I have so many ideas!!!!!!
4. I took head shots for a dance studio that I previously danced at (only for a summer) but the kids I photographed are all either graduating or just in high school and when i danced with them they were 10years old and younger. I had a blast take a look!
5. So for Christmas, I asked for a new lens. An amazing 50mm f/1.4...:D What does that all mean you might ask? Well basically what you need to know is that its a quick lens, and it lets in more light than my other two lenses which means I can shoot much better photos in dim light (which is a majority of my shots; indoors, evening, no flash because of the baby.) Well I didn't get the lens, but that was fine because I got some money for Christmas and my birthday and I was going to save a little more to buy it...its kinda expensive. Well...my sweet little husband surprised me last week with a wee little package from the UPS and my lens. :D I had NO IDEA! The invoice said "I love you"...he sure knows how to make my day! The lens is incredible, and I am in love! It will take a little getting use to however, because it is NOT a zoom lens and so I have to move in or back up to "Zoom" - but the quality is absolutely worth it...look at these shots! Something else I love about it is its ability to really focus on ONE thing and give a nice blur in the background...it's called bokeh, and this lens captures BEAUTIFUL bokeh! I love these pictures with daddy!

6.Today while playing with Lailah something so cute happened. I always put two hands out to her and say "up!" when it's time to stand up. She has always been good about grabbing my hands in reaction to me grabbing hers, but todayyy she grabbed both of my hands herself, and it was adorable! Check out this cute little video I took of her and daddy! :D I love her
That's all for this post! I've got stuff to do. :D Lailah has her 6mo. checkup in the morning (2/7) I will give an update around her 6mo birthday (Wednesday) to let you know how big this chunkster is.
